In case anyone reading this didn’t know, I have been out of work since January … just went over the three month mark. Has been an eye opening experience for sure, and many lessons learned so far. You would think that someone with over 25 years management experience in the military, retail, non-profits, and healthcare research, along with a Masters degree in Public Administration and an MBA would be able to find a position somewhere, but it has proven to be fruitless. I continually get the “you’re over qualified” line, which translates to “we want someone just out of school so we can pay them very little and get a lot of work out of them”, or “you make too much money and we won’t be able to keep you long”, or “you’re too old”. It all ends up the same thing. So…if anyone reading this has any legitimate leads I would appreciate a connection.
My energy levels have been very low the last few days. It may just be the fact that I ran out of thyroid meds on Friday and just got more today. I gained 6.6 pounds in that time frame, but lost .8 today, so we’ll see. Thyroid can also effect energy, so that may be part of it. Forced myself out for a short 1.25 mile run today and shins hurt again. That hasn’t hurt in over a month. I just think the stress builds up and eventually boils over. Hopefully will pull out of it by this weekend.
